Denzel Phreeman – Abuja
Circular Economy is part of the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Initiative of the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency, NESREA which ensures that Wastes serve as secondary raw materials for other products thereby adding value to the Economy.
The Media Dialogue organised by NESREA seeks to deepen the knowledge and understanding of media professionals on the concept of Circular Economy.
Speakers at the forum highlighted the role of the media in Circular economy’s value chain and the need for partnership with key
Government agencies for successful implementation.
Nigeria generates over 32 million tonnes of Solid Waste annually. Waste recycling is therefore key to extracting maximum value of the resources to reduce the burden of waste on the environment.
